Isn't it funny how when someone has a child, the question is:
"How old are they?"
A: "9 years" (or whatever)

And when someone has a pet, the question is:
"How old are they?"
A: "I've had him for 9 years"

Can you just picture the strange facial expression of someone who just asked another, "how old is your son?" And the answer is: "I've had him for 9 years"

p.s. my word verification letters are xzayl - looks like it would read "exile." I wonder how that could fit into this blog post. Perhaps the parent stating their ownership of the child should be sent into xyayl :)
