I'm sure we all have a song or two where we don't REALLY know the words of a verse, so we just sing our own. Right? (Even you don't agree, I know you're lying)
For example - back in the day, I thought in BonJovi's song "Wanted, Dead or Alive" the verse was:
"on a steel Jose ride"
when it's actually:
"on a steel horse I ride"
(much to my surprise, Jose had NOTHING to do with the song. Poor Jose)

One of the more current songs I have this "make-my-own-lyrics-up" syndrome for, is called Shine, by the News Boys.
The lines I always sang were:
"...that would make a vegetarian barbecue hamster"
when it's actually:
Exactly that. ha! I couldn't believe it! I thought for sure those were the wrong words!
*
The other line of the song I would sing as:
"that would make a schizophrenic chinese crayon"
when it's actually:
"that would make a schizophrenic turn in his crayons"
*
So I ask... what WOULD a schizophrenic chinese crayon be like?

I hate it when I find out my happy lyrics for a song are way off and the lyrics are actually sad and depressing. For example, Days of the New - Touch, Peel, Stand. "I am the one to love you" is actually "I am the one to abuse." I like it better in my world!!
